Děj se odehrává v americké akademii Spenser Academy, kterou krom jiných studují i čtyři kluci, kteří jsou školní elitou, která má předevšemi respekt a uznání. Spojuje je ale hlavně jedno 300let staré tajemství a tím je jejich nadpřirozená moc. Rodina každého jednoho z nich má totiž magickou moc už od počátků 17.století. V té době ale byli vyhnáni jako kacíři. Jejich prarodiče se ale vrátili zpět a teď je z nich nerozlučná čtyřka.
Ovšem to se změní příchodem člena páté rodiny se stejnými schopnostmi. Čtveřice kluků vůbec nemá tušení, že je jedním z nich a začnou se s ním bavit a pomalu ho přijímají mezi sebe. Díky němu ale ve skupině vznikají neshody a jejich vztahy se komplikují i kvůli přítelkyním.
Postupem času jim ale nový člen party připadá podezřelý a nakonec zjišťují, že se k nim přidal jen proto, aby získal jejich moc. A to se mu povede jedině tehdy, dosáhnou-li kluci osmnácti let a svou moc mu sami předají, s čímž sami přijdou o život.
Tento horor je něco na způsov Stmívání, jsou tu krásní idolové v hlavních rolích, kluk s nadpřirozenými schopnostmi se snaží ochránit dívku, kterou miluje a vše nakonec dopadne dobře. Takže pro dívky je tahle „pohádka“ dobrým hororem a kluky zaujme spíše boj na konci.
